Taste of their blood

Noen ting han liker om dem.

Smaken av deres strømming blod.
Følelsen av deres bryting bein.
Synet av deres revet kjøtt.
Lyden av deres pinefulle skrik.

Som om hatet av alt Naturens barn er samlet inn i ham denne natt.
Raseriet av stormen som herjer rundt ham renner i hans årer.
Ikke noe smerte kan sate hans sult.
Men han vil sluke hele smerten som han kan vri ut av dem.

Jeg føler deg, bror.

He doesn't need introduction. Well, alright, for any random visitors, this is Stygian Stígandr Sætansen - Stian, the great white Siderian Demon. Today not so purely white. By my guess this is the only kind of filth he enjoys putting upon his precious pristine white coat. Why did I draw him like that when he is so keen on cleanness? That was inspired by one of my more hateful moods. It happened before the trip to Norway and after several failed attempts of composing something brutal featuring a man-slaughtering Stian, I came up with this simple something instead. Simple, yet telling. In Norway of course the power and spirit of Nature brought me into a more balanced, harmonious state, but then returning into the "civilization" and daylight gave rise to a whole new kind of hatred. One I had nearly forgotten.... when I should never. So I finished it.

At first I was planning to get it done by the time of my trip, get it onto a flash and take it to Jayme myself, because I really wished to see his reaction to it.... but I didn't have the time prior to the trip. No wonder, it wasn't even halfway complete when I departed. I did a serious miscalculation of drawing time this time, but then this drawing took waaaaaaaaay longer than I thought.... way longer than almost any other drawing I've done these many days. Must be the fur. Well, the good thing about digital art gifts are that they can be easily sent at any time, to any other location on the planet (as long as both locations have internet, that is).
Not much to say that isn't already in the drawing.... or in the text above. Which is in Norwegian by the way and no, I am not going to translate it. Whoever needs to know, knows.

One thing I must say though.... it's a matter of pride. This is definitely my most realistic non-photo-referenced work.

About 11 hours. Way more than any other portrait I've made. Must be the fur.
