Pentagram Baphomet sign

Description

So I was making a little design for myself as I tend to do sometimes. Shirts, tattoos, bags, wallpapers, you name it. I wanted a Baphomet sign without a circle and with Sumerian letters instead of the jewish ones. There was none I found that would suit my needs so I made it myself. Yep, the design is not mine and neither is the pentagram, but I don't care. BUT, I drew the cuneiform myself, which is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery difficult, bleh XD

Now, since this is hardly a work of art (more like a work of "let's delete these circles and put some triangles here and there instead" on photoshop), I'll use the opportunity to hold a lecture on the correct terminology (open for anyone else who, like me, has nothing better to do today), why (besides the aforementioned), well because there's a lot of misconceptions and misuses of them.... note to self: I might strike a comic on correct Satanic terminology some time, THAT will be fun.
1) A Pentagram is a 5-point star polygon, in other words, it is a mathematical shape resembling a 5-point star which you get by connecting 5 dots with 5 intersecting lines in the well known old familiar way: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagra… It's not mandatory that the 5 dots are arranged on a perfect circle and at perfectly equal distances from each other, but if they are, mathematically, you get a regular pentagram. Otherwise you get an irregular pentagram, which kinda sounds more underground, eh? But everyone knows that mathematically perfect shapes are usually much more magickal. Anyway, none of the pentagram definition however mentions any circles of any kind fit in or around it or anywhere at all. In other words, a five-point star does not magickally transform into a pentagram only if you put it in a circle. Nope. It's a pentagram all along.
2) A pentacle, as opposed to a pentagram, is a talisman or other object with a pentagram drawn or etched or elsewise shaped on it. No, "pentagram" is not a Satanic nor a magickal word, and neither is "pentacle" the non-evil and safe-to-use-by-chaste-non-Satanic-witchcraft-practitioners-and-connoisseurs equivalent of the obviously evil pentagram. (Some people do define mathematics as evil, I cannot really argue with that.) Nope, in fact a pentacle contains a pentagram, which is what makes it a pentacle to begin with because otherwise it would be simply a blank piece of wood / stone / metal / whatever. Sorry to point out the obvious, but if you own a pentacle you're wearing or otherwise in possession of a pentagram. But that's okay because pentagrams are not evil. Not any more than pentacles anyway. In terms of Satanism (and not only, but this is a Satanic lecture after all), the pentagram is a symbol which is mainly associated with the 5 spiritual elements, i.e. with spiritual power. It does not symbolize evil, sorry.
3) A Baphomet is not a Demon nor in any way related to Demons. It is an ancient Pagan deity or mythical creature who is both male and female and is most often portrayed with a goat head (the goat being an ancient folklore symbol of fertility and life power), with or without a lit torch between the horns (symbolic for intelligence, enlightenment and wisdom), usually with wings (symbolic of spiritual freedom and power). It is not on itself a Satanic symbol (probably), but Satanism adopted it anyway because it is a very powerful and ancient symbol of Life. No, not of evil, not of destruction, not of slaughter. It symbolizes the soul in its spiritual duality and power, as well as fertility, wisdom, intelligence and spiritual freedom. In other words, the best aspects and achievements of Life. The word "Baphomet" is not a synonym to "pentagram" nor to "Satanic pentagram", nor does a goat head miraculously turn into a Baphomet if you put it in a pentacle made of "evil" black candles.
4) A Sigil.... has nothing to do with any of that. This sign as it is, a Baphomet head fit inside a pentagram, has become a universal symbol of Satanism, combining the symbolism of spiritual power and Life. Awesome, although it's another question how many Satanists are aware of that.... I don't seek to offend anyone, but eh well, it's possible to happen. However, LaVey called that symbol a "sigil", which is, sorry, but a total nonsense. A Sigil is something totally different, I'm not going into that. But just because someone came up with a neat symbol made of geometric shapes and fancy curves in them, put a lot of symbolism in it (far not necessarily correct symbolism) that does not make it a Sigil. This is not a Sigil, it is merely a sign. Deal with it.

This Pentagram with Baphomet SIGN is not the original LaVeyan one. This belongs to Cradle of Filth actually and the lines are slightly different from those of the LaVeyan one so that they avoid copyright implications.
There's the original LaVeyan Baphomet: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…
As opposed to the the Cradle of Filthian Baphomet which I used: i712.photobucket.com/albums/ww…
(Find the 10 differences.) I used the CoF one because it's easier to come by in a simple, B/W form, as simple as possible.
Also, here's a good moment to mention that, again to avoid copyright implications, CoF changed the letters from the LaVeyan sign too. While on the original LaVeyan design the letters read LVYTN, i.e. Leviathan, on the Cradle of Filthian one they read (probably) TzBZNR, which means a gloriously total nothing at all. Unfortunately for many people out there who simply wish to have a nice classical (LaVeyan) Satanic Baphomet on a pendant, t-shirt, sweatshirt or whatever, without having to go down into a comprehensive research on the matter, the CoF-ian sign with the nonsense inscription has become so very widely spread that it might overshadow the original, at least in most non-Satanic places and stores. I guess it's simply because it's easier to come by, as I already mentioned. It's really sad when you see a nicely made Baphomet pendant with the letters that read nothing at all.... >.< But I never liked hebrew anyway. Sumerian on the other hand, totally rocks.

So, this here is simplified Sumerian cuneiform and it reads SATAN. The idea and design is not mine, it belongs to Joy of Satan, an organization I deeply respect. I made it for personal use anyway, but hey, a nice tribute to them :ahoy:

Feel free to use as long as you're a Satanist :Р
Yes, that is total discrimination.

Ave Satanas.

P.S. In moments of pain and depression (and personal betrayal) I always turn back towards Satanism. The one true, pure, incorruptible thing in my soul which never failed, betrayed, mislead or disappointed me.
That's the message, this is the true power within me, my inner freedom and true self. I owe my life and everything I am, everything I have become, to it. Anyone can understand that as they wish.

Hey Lapis-Lazuri, nice work. Would you be able to make some custom pictures for me, it's part of a project for the JoS. Your help will be highly appreciated.
