So, ever wondered what you'd look like as an owl? I did my share of wondering and now I won't need to ever wonder again, hehe. Some things were clear since the very start. Like, obviously I'd be blue and have blue eyes and (somehow) an ink-blue mane. Obviously I'd have a certain set of two Sigils painted in my left shoulder or wing plumage. Also too obviously, I'd wear an undefined number of pentagrams. The blue fire is a bonus, but I wouldn't quite be me without it, would I?
All that said, perhaps the most difficult question left was: what species would I be? The most obvious choice is a snowy owl. But then a tyto emerged in my mind. And refused to go. I seem to have a thing for tytos and I don't really know why. They are somehow different from other owls. And so I found my solution. I'd be a tyto with the color pattern of a snowy owl.... only blue -.- Ummm. Not quite such a good idea I suppose since looking at the result now you can't really tell that the color pattern is that of a snowy owl - and yes, I am aware of that - but.... Anyway, if you wonder why most of my plumage is just uniform (besides the *genius* lighting), that'd be it - because male snowy owls are mostly just white. Aaaand having that said, you've got blue owl in a blue night lighted by a blue fire. Yep. Genius. But hey - that's me! What could be more me than that? Never nuff bloo. Oh, yes. And the northern lights. No, you'd never have guessed, I never drew those before, you'd totally never expect it (and mind you, I haven't even seen them with my own eyes yet - imagine what will it be like after I take a trip to Norway XD ). So, *cough* at least they add a different hue XD ....although I was more or less worried about how the usual greenish I use for northern lights would pair with all those blues.

Well, I suppose everything is just fine, after all, this can hardly be more me, and that was the whole point. Well, in theory, it can, I did initially intend to add a guitar strapped on my back, but time was running short and I decided I was a bit too lazy for it - which is, again, very much me. Same for details, I did intend to add more details.... And, technically, I should have added a dragon pendant too (or should I have turned it into an owl pendant?), but after drawing for a while I decided the theme here was much too different anyway, what with all the pentagrams, Sigils and blue fire. So I just kept to that (which is really how I justify yet another stroke of lazy).
Hmmm.... what more is there to say? Oh yes, for some reason it feels awkward to me to draw Demon Sigils in digital media. I've always drawn them with pencils so far. Maybe it's just a matter of habit, or the lack of it. Anyway, they sit there a bit oddly, but then they're supposed to stand out. I did consider drawing them in some kind of feather-pattern-ish way, but I didn't go so far. Maybe it would have been neat.... but maybe I didn't feel that much masterful today. I haven't been drawing digitally for ages after all. For quite a while I hadn't been drawing at all.

Drawn in Ps CS6 with a Wacom Intuos4. Original size: 3000 x 4000 px. No textures used.
Time: about 6 1/2 hours. Not sure whether this is an average for digital or not.
