Yes, I have come back to digital art. Hopefully to stay.
This little piece came into being partially as a consequence of a recently announced contest in
group. The contest is, naturally, music-themed, for art inspired by a song. This sounds like the perfect theme for me, but the truth is that whenever it comes to drawing music / songs, I feel like I'm in the middle of a city-sized treasury, bound to only choose one jewel among a million others. You understand that this is a real pain for a dragon 
Moreover, recently I am on a Black / Thrash Metal wave, and if I gotta choose what to draw it simply shall be Black. But Black Metal is far from easy to depict, at least the feeling to it when I listen to its finest.... it is something perfectly ineffable and cannot be embraced within a single piece of art.
The first idea that came to me was an epic battle scene (which I do intend to attempt drawing, but will require a lot more time), but sadly it didn't match the song so well. Neither does this one.... but I think it matches the atmosphere.... Doesn't matter so much because literally drawing a song was never my intention, I just felt like drawing some fire, some blackness, some beautiful destruction.... and a dragon. Can't go without a dragon, dammit. I guess the rest is clear. If not.... well, I'll make it more explicit next time.
Last but not least, I had that very simple and predictable color scheme in my mind and felt like seeing if it works the way I imagined it. Well, it did. I'm happy. This is also one the reasons why I did far less work on the details than usual. Plus, I have to break the chains of lord Detail, because it starts pissing me off.
Finally, let's mention what song was this inspired from, since it's required for the contest. One word: Watain. They have several songs that match the mood to me and I could mention, BUT, in "Legions Of The Black Light" there is a Black Sun mentioned, so I consider this is the song for this picture.
